AWAS. long post ahead//

I MISS MAWAI!!!

mawai eco camp 14-18th of november 2007.

(hmm on the side track, shall organise my thoughts and all for the report ! 3000 words! lol)

remembered that my first reaction of mawai eco camp would be like. eeyer. eco? ecology? plants? swamp? haha, but how wrong was i. i definately do not regret going for this trip. and how i wish it could've been longer. do those extended version, such as crossing the sea to the island across? but definately not the extended for the swamp walk. heh.

those fun we had there while doing those water obstacle course, swamp walk (even though its damn muddy, yucky and beware of the leeches and those irritating mosquitos), aust defence trail (from WWII), night firefly cruise, star gazing, camp fire sing-a-long, climbing gurung arong (those spectacular views), museum trip (haha, raises eyebrow. its so so. haha.) and shopping / lunch at kota tinggi.

(hmm, remind me if i miss out any..)

shall begin on the day to day recollection. ;)

DAY ONE.

haha. woke up and it was RAINING HEAVILY. ( haha, i acutally rmb ehh! ) ahah, and as *ahem* as usual, without my dad to bring me to school now, reached school on the dot (oh well, a little late.. lol), yeah, and also if not i am suppose to meet nathoon on the way to school and nathoon ryan msging, i guess i might have been later. yeah, i rmb, my bro was playing MAPLE story the whole night and forgotten to wake me up, so i end up waking up at 6.30am. i couldnt even hear my alarm cause i was quite deeply sleeping then. slept at ard 3 am due to packing of the bags (contemplating for a long time of how many clothes i gotta bring and so on) and being online, meanwhile free celling too. lol. alright alright. those bits of details. lol.

(man.. i am turning lazy again. haha, so much memories to blog down about! i am going to turn nuts)

alright, back. back back.

we're supppose to report to school at 8am and then set off after some briefing.

however the bus was late, so we set off rather late. so group three left ard like 10am plus? ebing the last and lastest group. haha, yeah, meanwhile, we will be hungry for some breakfast since some of us didnt eat.

gottten our rubber shoes (which is like ._. but grateful for it later) and inflatable pillows!

yeah, slept throughout the way during our trip to mawai which many of us intended to do after a late night. haha. the trip supposed to be like 1 hour 45 mins of so. with abt 15 min of driving in the the ulu mawai place which is off town.

there's some tour guide who came on after our causeway check point. hmm, her name is asnur (ask no) lol. yeah, talking to us and introducing to us malaysia, telling us about the facts of johore like how many people there are in there. and that the biggest state selangor? has more ppl than the ppl of sg. haah, forgotten those exact figures. (see i am actually listening. lol) while most have gone too sleep land. well, felt bad as many ppl just knock off when she talks. so in the end she also gives up talking while bidding us good dreams in dream land.

hmm. meanwhile my sitting partner, well for all of those bus trip is LEEXIAN! :D

yeah, after reaching mawai, looks at all the trees that surrounds. well, and obviously the OIL palm trees that malaysia is so famous for, those trees plantation that grew at the sides of the highways of malaysias.

PAUSE

during night time, our group went for star gazing. well, it was partly cloudy, however, the stars we see up there are definately more than the stars we see in singapore. recognized some constellations such as orion, the most prominent one. well, it have been quite some time since odac.

well, nevertheless, this activites are really made memorable especially due to the friends around. THE FUN FACTOR!
guess that without them, these activites wouldnt've been much of anything.
unless you are some ultimate nature lover or some soloist.
with friends, all those undo-able stuff seems possible. they'll be there to support and to help. just with their presence. [hmm, they certainly do a great job on team building for this kind of activities]. double/ tripled the enjoyment factor :D

and those new friends formed! yeah. and really hoped that not just the fact of knowing one another's name only. or maybe like few months later we would just smile and say hi to one another. quite a sad fact. sigh.

the tranquality of there. being surrounded by those greeneries and the waters, in touch with nature. living just on those basic stuff, the lifestyles of kampong. literally living in a timeless world there. when morning comes, the rooster will just do the wake up call and when night falls, those pretty pretty little stars will come out which spreads across the big dark blue skies. those stars that tells us stories and stars that teaches us as well, such as telling us direction. such as what mr tan had said. astrology, or so, they give a bigger picture, all the stars up there. you will understand then. individual stars doesnt make up anything, there must be a cluster or them, to make something, to be something.

well, other then the stars, those insect orchestras. haha, which is their mating call. hmm, i am glad that humans get to enjoy more than just the mating part. lol. quite sad eh, the main aim of animals is to mate, mulity. lol, go forth and multiply.

we've learnt that cicadas actually remained 17 years in pupa stage, and would only be in its mature stage for like one week or so? haha, someone actually says if we are actually cicadas, we will be up for only promos and then die. lol. fireflies whose lifespan are only a month. i cant imagine if one month is all we have to live. the are just so many things. i wouldnt want to die so fast. but on another note, at least they've got one month. some doesnt even get the chance to be born.

you'll never know when. live life to the fullest eh? just wondering, animals, they all go for physical looks only, do they have feelings as well? its always known that eg, fireflies, they go for the brightest flies. well, kinda like a stereotype, physical attractions, humans are roughly the same as well? but with a more complex mind, thus come the character? ahah, or wouldnt live be meaningless if this are one of the few things we go for?

features that you will never catch in singapore. and now being back in singapore, back to those electronics and all. haha, i really think we waste alot of energy resources. haha, which i suppose almost everyone will be guilty of that. looking at how oil prices are increasing, maybe we all should just adapt the lifestyle for a month or so? ahha. and maybe till then, oil resources would not deplete fifty years later.

singapore is like so urbanalised. always thought that i would've love being a city person. and that nature is just secondary, like some other kind.

would love to just stay there, at the countyside or something. but then i would still want a decent toilet. and definately, not the bugs too.

well i guess that comes with it.

i would want to have this kind of moments again :)

and that reminds me, i better go work out soon! oodles of extra weight laying about. and getting tired easily. haha.

certainly have learnt a great deal from this camp. things that i've never knew, things that i've known before, but better to know it again. experience those wonders that god had created. i am just glad.

spent quite sometime there 'thinking' and aka 'stoning'. just wondering and pondering about some things. well, paranoia getting the better over me and imagination bringing me no where better for some but to some are. lol. haha according to some poeple. being emo. well, i guess so. just been thinking. deep. staring into the stars.

my mind is telling me dont think so much anymore! lol. guess that would be it for now. shall continue sometime soon.
